2009 will be the third year of producing an animated light show for Williamson Workshop and plans have been in motion for several months. The light show synchronized to Christmas music started with a love of music, childhood love of Christmas lights, and motivation from the DIY network in 2006. This has been the Williamson’s opportunity to combine love of music, love of technology and desire to have a family hobby. From the youngest to the oldest everyone looks forward to Christmas and everyone has a job at the Williamson Workshop!
Located in Brookhaven on Tanglewood Drive, this year there is a total of about 30,000 lights and six to seven songs. If time allows a new tune or two may be added during the season, so come by often. Returning from last year will be the “Leaping Arches” and all of your favorite tunes. In addition to more lights, there is a new feature in the show which has been dubbed the “Mega Tree”. It is sure to impress.
During show hours, listen to the lights by tuning your car’s radio to 87.9 FM. The show will start November 27, and will run thru New Year’s Eve. Lightshow times: 5:30pm – 9:15pm Sunday through Thursday, and 5:30pm – 10:00 pm. Friday and Saturday. During Christmas week, the lights will run until 10:00pm due to the large amount of traffic. If there is a lot of water on the ground due to rain the lights will not be on.
This is a season of giving, and it has been the desire of Williamson Workshop to give back in some way. This year we are taking contributions for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) research. DMD is the most common fatal genetic disorder diagnosed in childhood and young men with Duchenne typically live into their late twenties. Research is at the heart of advances in treatment and care for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Funding Duchenne research is a core objective for Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD). PPMD is the largest nonprofit organization in the United States focused entirely on Duchenne. There will be occasional opportunities to give onsite but most of the contributions may be taken online at http://www.parentprojectmd.org/goto/williamsonworkshop Donations are tax deductible.
Thank you for visiting us online. Enjoy the show and Merry Christmas!
