Time has slipped by and we have closed on the Tanglewood house and started our updating. Actually more like demo work. So far we have taken up some carpet, painted the first coat of paint in Leslie’s and Nathan’s room, FINALLY gotten all the wallpaper down, ordered our bathroom vanity, made a “great” impression on the new neighbors (see Flickr pictures when I post them) and spents countless hours online searching for other items. Thus we have ignored our blog. I will update this blog with pictures ASAP. Our plans for this coming weekend are as follows:
- Have all sheet rock in the bathrooms completed and kilzed (the new master vanity come next week!)
- New flooring in two bathrooms
- Remove carpet in the great room (to be installed in Audrey’s room)
- 2nd coats of paint in Leslie’s and Nathan’s room
- And whatever Carey plans to do HA!!
- Remove remaining cabinets in kitchen (our cabinet guy is coming next week!)
We’ve gotten a lot done and have a lot to go and already our thank yous are emense. God provided our house and is providing for us in so many other ways. Below is the beginning our thankful list:
- Wanda B. : you rock! Thanks for removing that yucky border paper and bringing the kids supper.
- Ken B.: Thanks for your prompt service and getting all those carpet lumps out!
- Gail B.: Thanks for giving the kids and mom a break. You are awesome I don’t care what Louis says. (HEEHEE!)
- Southwest EMPA: Thanks for getting that power on before 3 to 5 days.
- Carolyn R: THANK YOU for holding my hand while I pick my colors.
- Maria G.: Thank you for being a way better neighbor than D.C. and encouraging our process.
- My Mom and Dad: Thanks for picking up slack at the old house and letting Leslie pretend to take a nap. Again, thanks for ALL of the slack you’ve picked up. We are grateful.
- Emaw: Thanks for ALL the help with the kids, supper, and decorating ideas. Not to mention cutting in and painting trim….that will remain on your list until we are done…or JESUS comes.
- Ppaw: Thanks for working with Carey and helping look after the children. Your help is emense.
- A special thanks to Wendy’s, Hal’s, and Lil Caesars, Bryan Ham, and Blue Bunny Bread….for just being there! (yum!)
- Brian and Trisha: Ya’ll are awesome neighbors. Hope ya’ll done get tired of us too quickly!

We are so grateful because we couldn’t have planned anything this good for ourselves. God is way more generous than we ever could imagine. We are truly humbled.
